FAQ
The first session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and to think together about what may be bringing you to therapy. There is no expectation to have everything clearly worked out or explained from the beginning. We will move at a pace that feels manageable and comfortable for you.
Sessions usually take place once a week, on the same day and at the same time each week, and are 50 minutes long.
The length of therapy varies from person to person and depends on what brings you to therapy, as well as what you hope to gain from the process. Some people come with a particular difficulty they would like support with, while others are looking for a deeper understanding of themselves, their relationships, and recurring emotional patterns. Therapy offers space to explore these experiences at a pace that feels manageable for you.
Not necessarily. Some people begin therapy during periods of stress, anxiety, loss, or change, while others come with a quieter sense that something does not feel quite right, despite coping outwardly. You do not need to be in crisis or have a clearly defined problem to begin therapy.
For many people, online therapy can feel just as meaningful and connected as meeting in person. Being in your own space can sometimes make it easier to reflect openly and fit therapy into the realities of everyday life. Working online also means you are able to work with a psychologist who may not be based in your local area, which can feel particularly important when looking for a therapeutic approach that feels like the right fit for you.
Many people begin therapy feeling unsure of how to speak about what they are experiencing, particularly if they are used to coping on their own or keeping things to themselves. There is no expectation to have the “right” words or a clear understanding of how you feel from the beginning. Therapy can offer space to think together about experiences and feelings that may have been difficult to express or make sense of alone.
You are welcome to get in touch to arrange a brief introductory call if you would like to ask questions or get a sense of whether working together feels like the right fit.
